Other Groups and Activities
At the UU Church of Peoria, we know that one size doesn’t fit all. That’s why we offer a variety of small groups and social activities.
Interest Groups
Many groups within the church are based on common interests, such as:
- Book discussion groups
- Choir
- Drum circles
- Young Adult group
Social Groups
We also have groups that get together just to enjoy one another’s company for lunch, dinner, or other types of outings. Examples include the Free for Friendship singles group, Women’s Third Thursday Lunch, and Retired Men’s Lunch.
Outside Groups
Several community groups use church facilities for some of their activities. These groups are open to anyone who is interested.
Examples include:
- Osher Lifelong Learning Institute classes
- Central Illinois Healthy Community Alliance
Special Events
Fun special events take place throughout the year. Some are fundraisers, others are “just because”—but all are guaranteed to be a good time!
Here’s a small sampling:
- Potlucks
- Annual Salad Luncheon
- Chili Cook-off
- Auction
- Halloween Party
- Thanksgiving Dinner

To find out what groups are currently active and when they meet, check the calendar of events or our newsletter, The Builder. (If you don’t receive the newsletter, contact the church office and ask for a copy.)
Have an idea for a new type of group? Contact the church office, and you’ll be referred to someone who can help you get a new group started.
