Let’s spend a morning exploring ways we can each meet the needs of this moment by using our unique skills in sustainable ways. As we do the work of bending the arc of the universe, we know this moment requires consistent attention, deep reflection, and committed collective action. It cannot be a flash of action and a resumption of the status quo. In order to prepare ourselves for this endeavor, we will learn from the work of Deepa Iyer’s Social Change Now and Omkari L. Williams’s Micro Activism: How You Can Make a Difference in the World (Without a Bullhorn). No need to read the books; we’ll be learning the principles, discussing ideas, and considering if the framework would help us.
