   Do you hope to face our human mortality with less fear and more curiosity? With less conformity and more creativity? If that sounds like you, welcome to Date with Death Club, where we explore topics of aging, death, and dying. Attend one, some, or all sessions. 

   Due to the climate crisis, we face not our own mortality but questions about our collective existence as a species and whether the planet is dying (at least as it is inhabitable by humans). Using concepts from the “Work That Reconnects,” developed by Joanna Macy, we’ll bravely explore this emotional terrain.

   UU History 101, part of our Faith Forward Path, is a six-session introduction to concepts and people from our history. In this series, we approach history from the starting point of   compelling stories and personalities. We will explore the questions those people faced and make connections with our own lives and the world around us today. The overarching question is: how can history be translated into our life and spiritual practice? In addition to learning about history, we hope you will learn about yourselves. Facilitators: Jesi Laughlin, DLRE, Lindy Peterson, and Jennifer Stubbs.

   You deserve time to rest. Come and practice in community. In-person Sacred Rest on April 13 will be in the Senior High Youth Room. Bring water, a journal, and/or blanket if you wish. On fourth Sundays (next on April 27), the Central IL Religious Educators will facilitate a guided rest experience on Zoom for our four congregations in Bloomington-Normal, Champaign-Urbana, Peoria, and Springfield. Create a comfortable nest with a blanket or pillow, grab some water, and bring a journal if you wish. We’ll draw from the work of Tricia Hersey.
