The Universalist Unitarian Church of Peoria is delighted that our new settled minister is the Reverend Jennifer Innis!
Reverend Jennifer began her ministry with us August 1, 2020. She previously served as Interim Co-Minister of the Unitarian Universalist Society of Geneva, Illinois. A lifelong, third-generation Unitarian Universalist, she grew up in Massachusetts, where her family attended a UU church that was originally Universalist.
In 1994 she received a BA in Theater from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She received a Master of Divinity degree from Harvard Theological Seminary in 1998. Her formation as a minister included two internships, one at First Church in Boston and the other at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Belfast, Maine. Her church of origin, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Worcester, Massachusetts, ordained her in March 2000.
Since being credentialed by the Unitarian Universalist Association in 1999, Reverend Jennifer has held ministerial positions with eight congregations in Massachusetts, Alabama, South Carolina, Texas, and Illinois. Her experience includes serving not only as a minister and an interim minister, but also as a Director of Religious Education and an Assistant Minister for Lifespan Religious Exploration. In 2018 she became the Director for Spirit Play, a story-based program for young children in Unitarian Universalism.
Reverend Jennifer is married to the Reverend Patrick Price, and they have two children. Nate is 12 years old and enjoys Boy Scouts. He loves video games and Dungeons and Dragons. Abby is 8 and would take care of every animal in the world if she could.
